MINTED'S CANVAS ART PRINTS
Capture the rich texture and vibrant colors of original artwork with canvas art prints. The frameless and framed designs in this avant garde collection will showcase your unique style and enhance any room.
Minted’s printing process beautifully replicates the look of an original piece of art. Because they’re lighter than pieces framed with plexiglass, canvas prints are safer to hang than heavier art, making them ideal for all spaces. The canvas artwork seen here is printed on a premium cotton canvas material and stretched around a wood frame, also known as stretcher bars, creating uncanny depth in the work. Canvas prints are also extremely durable and commonly found in commercial buildings, high-traffic areas, public spaces and in any room of the home.
Like our works printed on paper, canvas art is offered in our full range of sizes, from 5 by 7 inches up to 44 by 60 inches. Discover limited-edition runs and colorway prints within Minted’s canvas art collection. Minted’s art is priced to meet every budget and our canvas prints are our most affordable ready-to-hang option.
CANVAS VERSUS PAPER PRINTS
Let your aesthetic guide your choice between paper and canvas art prints. The main difference between the two is glass: art printed on paper must be shielded from dust and UV exposure, so it requires a protective frame. Our giclee canvas selections are not only vibrant, but are also resilient. Giclee describes the method of using high-resolution, large-format digital inkjet printers to recreate artwork directly onto a stretched piece of canvas. Giclee on canvas delivers rich texture and an authentic appearance that enhances each brush stroke.

CHOOSING CANVAS WALL ART PRINTS
Choosing art for your home can be a daunting task. It always helps to start by identifying your favorite styles and mediums and by considering the space where the art will live. Whether you’re looking for art that will evoke the sensation of escape or you love to feel the texture and see the mark-making that went into a piece, Minted has canvas paintings to inspire you.
When thinking about styles and mediums, remember that the medium refers to the format or material from which it’s made, while style is often subjective and sometimes harder to identify. Photography and painting are both mediums; either can possess a modern or abstract style. Style can be more specific, too. For example, landscape photography can refer to a traditional shot of a forest, but could also refer to a very contemporary, panoramic photograph of a coastline. When narrowing down your choices, consider whether you are drawn to a certain medium or whether you are trying to evoke a certain style. Here are some examples to get you started:
- Modern Abstracts: If you’re drawn to a contemporary look and tend to avoid representational art, consider building a collection of modern abstracts. Mixing mediums like paint and collage works well to achieve this style. Look for works with bold forms and colors, but choose a consistent color scheme to tie your collection together. Retro Stripes by Celeste Duffy would pair beautifully with Construct 4 by Ashleigh Ninos as a great start to your abstract art collection
- Architectural Photography: If you enjoy photography, but don’t know where to begin with this wide-ranging medium, determine whether you want to mix color and black-and-white photos or whether you prefer to stay consistent. Consider if there is a specific subject matter you are drawn to. If architectural photography interests you, have some fun with this theme by mixing an austere black-and-white piece like Van Tsao’s Study the Pi with Kimberly Young’s eclectic and imaginative Sodapop Block.
- Prints of Paintings: If you’ve landed on canvas wall art as the right option for your space, prints of paintings are an excellent choice to evoke the feeling of original art. Textured works like collage, will retain their intricate details and dimensionality when printed on the woven surface. Explore artworks by Jennifer Daily and Parima Studio to achieve this original art-inspired style. To elevate this look even more, frame your canvas wall art in a sophisticated walnut frame.
- Line Drawings and Illustrations: Line drawings and illustrations also translate well to a canvas format, especially those featuring bold lines and shapes printed on a light-colored background. Sonya Percival’s Watermelons and Amanda Pheps’ Cactus Line Drawing are two playful examples of this simple but bold style.
- Watercolors: If you’re looking for a splash of color, a watercolor piece can provide a similar illustrative effect, but with softer strokes and greater tonal variation. Domino Effect by Lorent and Leif is a gorgeous option to consider.
- The Classics: Canvases have been around for centuries, so it’s only natural to opt for a traditional style. To go classic, opt for neutral figurative paintings or simple botanicals and landscapes. Patricia Rabitaille’s After the Bath is evocative of medieval Italian figurasim while Mornings Away by Emily Jeffords will give your space the gentle feel of 19th century French Impressionism. These traditional art styles printed on canvas are the perfect foundation for a museum-worthy collection.
CANVAS ART PRINT FAQs
- What are standard canvas sizes? The most common sizes for canvas art prints are 18 by 24 inches and 34 by 40 inches. For a square orientation, 30 by 30 will make a big impact in any space. Canvas prints are available in the same sizes as our paper prints, as well as one larger size: 44 by 60 inches. The durability of canvas allows for larger prints without compromising the strength of the piece. Canvas art prints are available in portrait, landscape and square orientations.
- What is the difference between a rolled or loose canvas print and stretched canvas print? Rolled or loose canvas refers to an artwork printed on canvas that has not been wrapped around a frame or stretcher bars. Minted offers stretched canvas, which means the print is stretched taut around a solid wood frame and arrives ready to hang.
- What is the difference between Gallery Wrap and Museum Wrap? Minted offers its canvas art in two common formats: gallery wrap and museum wrap. With museum wrap, the artwork is printed up to the edge of the surface and the sides of the wrapped canvas are left as a white border. Gallery wrap is when the artwork is printed as a mirror image on the sides, wrapping around the frame. In Minted’s Art on Canvas collection, the artists have chosen the wrap style that is most complementary to each piece of art. You can find the wrap format for a particular piece listed within Frames and Finishes, under Borders and Matting.
- Can I order framed canvas art prints from Minted? Canvas prints can be framed in a thin, wooden floater frame. This style of frame leaves a small gap between the canvas and the frame, creating the illusion that the artwork is floating within the frame.
- How do you hang canvas art prints? Minted’s canvas art is stretched around a rigid wooded frame and comes with a hanging wire installed on the back side. Once you have decided where you want your art to hang, mark the wall where the top center of the artwork falls. Measure the distance between the top of the canvas art and the center of the wire when held taut. Then measure down that same distance below your wall mark and install your hanging hardware. Still confused? Check out our detailed art hanging guide.
- How do you clean canvas art prints? Minted’s canvas wall art can be dusted with a very lightly dampened cloth. Avoid using any chemicals or cleaners as this could damage the print.
