This is part of a larger series of works featuring lush strokes of color, texture, and delicate mark-making. Roaming the woods in the South as a child left a permanent impression, and I’m often recreating abstracted snapshots of those memories on canvas. Inspired by the view when looking up through a canopy of blooms and branches, I painted bold colors and intuitive marks against a minimal and clean background.
