Zardozi means gold embroidery in Persian. Zardozi embroidery is an important and traditional handicraft in persian culture. Although Persian, Zardozi craft was practiced in India since ancient times. It rose to popularity during the Mughal regime and is still practiced in regions like Lucknow, Farrukhabad and Hyderabad in India. Zardozi is an elaborate metal embroidery on silk, satin, or velvet fabric. The craft uses gold and silver threads, fine metal wires, pearls, beads, and precious stones.
