This painting was created in the spring of 2022. Small for what I normally paint but I wanted to try to go smaller again. After painting large for a long time, it can be challenging to go small. I had decided on a palette of indigo, dusty rose, grey, and lavender. And of course, WHITE! Lots of gestural moves with my palette knives. I loved how this ended up.

    As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting. The end result should be a painting that will spiritually and emotionally capture, calm, and elevate us.
