About the work
My process begins with studies inspired by the walks I take. This painting draws from the cloudy skies and the mesmerizing variety of cloud formations I’ve observed. Lately, I’ve also found myself captivated by our weather due to climate change —a phenomena that commands both awe and respect. In a world where we strive for control, the weather remains an untamable force. It embodies the sublime: unpredictable, sometimes terrifying and dangerous, yet within that danger lies a profound, almost otherworldly beauty. This collection embodies this.

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting. The end result should be a painting that will spiritually and emotionally capture, calm, and elevate us.
