This is part of my current series Indigo Surfers. I am exploring Japanese processes and practicing the ancient technique of Shibori indigo dyeing of my photographs. How far can I push my photo prints without destroying them and still retain a representational image of my surfer subjects but still transform them into a unique one of a kind art object? I am exploring and pushing photography while communicating my love of color and the tradition of painting using indigo dye. A “new photography" intentionally elevating my love for land and sea where the two subjects meet.
