About the work
In the midst of the pandemic, I experienced a large windstorm resulting in significant damage. The storm brought chaos, but it also resulted in community. Neighbors helped one another from cleaning to emotional support. As I removed storm debris, I collected fallen leaves that were quite beautiful despite the circumstance. This print of two collected leaves represents our connectivity...and the resilience of the human spirit, despite surviving the windstorm of recent life. I am left with a sense of community, harmony... And knowing that the future is bright. This is optimism. .

See?..was my first word as a baby. As a testament to the frequency in which it was spoken, it adorned the top of my 1st birthday cake. Today, I am inspired by color and I "see" overlooked beauty through both my camera and painting, creating art that evokes calm and happiness. Finding beauty has little to do with the things you see, and everything to do with the way you see them. It is my hope that my work inspires you to see the extraordinary in our ordinary days.
