About the work

Nature continues to be a major theme in my work. The endless shapes and colors constantly inform me as an artist and designer. The organic soft colors contrasted with bright bursts of chroma; inspired by my sister's garden in New Brunswick, Canada.

    Kara Aina was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada and now resides in Salt Lake City, Utah. She works primarily in watercolor, oils, and occasionally in ink, acrylic, and collage. Her work is inspired by connections and interactions she has with family, friends and nature. In addition to being an artist she is a mother to 4 sons and is an art educator; currently teaching at the middle and high school level.
