About the work

This abstract floral piece features an expressive rendering of anemones, the delicate blooms that often showcase striking dark centers. In the artwork, I've explored the idea of imbuing environments with happy meaning in subtle ways, specifically through the symbolism of flowers. Here, a painterly mix of soft neutrals combines with nature-inspired hues of midnight blue, deep teal, and pale aqua to softly suggest the anemones, which traditionally have symbolized luck, love, and anticipation of future good.
