About the work

I loved the openness when surrounded by these vast mounds of sand grains. You could feel so connected to the earth by grabbing a handful of sand and letting it blow away in the wind. These billions of tiny grains of sand make up the Great Sand Dunes in Southern Colorado. This is a spiritual place, a place where mountains of sand is surrounded by some of the tallest snowcapped peaks in the U.S. You realize how tiny you really are when surrounded by the vast beautiful blank canvases of sand.
