About the work

This piece is part of a larger collection called "Benevolent ceramics", where simple everyday objects are explored and celebrated. This piece pairs with Benevolent Ceramics II (Gratitude Pot) and reflects on the simple act of making tea for someone or having a warm beverage made for oneself and how comforting and beautiful this can be. The two cups allude to the simple act of sharing and how this can sustain us in difficult times. Using the same muted palette and sense of proportions as in its partner piece, this work offers comfort, stability, and a sense of peace.
