Growing up in The Netherlands surrounded by bulb fields, canals and flower stalls, vibrant colors feel like home to me. After moving to North America I focussed on painting flowers and landscapes that are bright and joyful and evoke the feeling of coziness, or 'gezelligheid', the Dutch phrase for coziness.
