I have always loved a pastoral landscape, and with this piece I wanted to keep it loose and a little unfinished. In my neighborhood there is a red barn in a field of longhorn cattle that I pass each day - this provided the inspiration for this oil painting. This piece is part of a set and may be paired with Summer Field 1.
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up on the Alberta prairies, living many years in coastal northern California, and now calling the Utah mountains home, I have a deep love of nature and the stunning vistas that inspire my work. With a BFA in Illustration, I’ve spent the past twenty five years raising four fantastic daughters and trying to find as much time as possible to paint. I work primarily in oils, and am constantly snapping photos to inspire future projects.
