I have always had a deep appreciation for classical still life paintings, and have recently been exploring a more contemporary approach to this traditional subject matter. My goal is to keep a painting loose but accurate, with thick paint and little pops of unexpected color. I like to keep a bowl of fresh lemons or oranges in my kitchen, and I hope this painting will bring a happy splash of color to any space.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Growing up on the Alberta prairies, living many years in coastal northern California, and now calling the Utah mountains home, I have a deep love of nature and the stunning vistas that inspire my work. With a BFA in Illustration, I’ve spent the past twenty five years raising four fantastic daughters and trying to find as much time as possible to paint. I work primarily in oils, and am constantly snapping photos to inspire future projects.
