About the work
This is a previously endangered brown pelican skimming the water of Lake Pontchartrain. The numerous waterways throughout southern Louisiana make the perfect home for this prehistoric looking bird. The beauty and grace of the bird as it glides over the water has never lost my fascination or inspiration.

Mary Ann is strongly inspired by the diverse environment of the Gulf Region, the uncommon beauty of urban landscapes and a wide range of subject matter depicting life in New Orleans. Mary Ann's favorite way to share her artistic vision is through photographic prints, and acrylic and mixed media paintings.
