About the work

In my exploration of translucency with watercolor, this painting was focused on using the color blue but still showcasing the wide range of colors within. I was inspired both by sapphire color in gem stones as well as by the deep sea. The layout really blooms into life and captures so much of the energy that I feel when I'm painting in watercolor!
