I enjoy painting marine subjects and seascapes and often include elements that might not necessarily be expected in a composition. In this particular painting, I was drawn to the bright red tugboats which contrast both in their lines and purpose to the ranks of pleasure boats along side them. I was also inspired by the confetti of reflection in the water. This painting is of the marina on the San Francisco Bay in Sausalito, California.
