About the work
This painting took forever! It was a very large canvas, 60 x 72, that seemed to have a mind of its own. Sometimes you need to walk away for a few days and work on something else. When I returned things started to go my way or maybe I was more relaxed and just let it go. I love this palette of blues, greys and white, which are so calming and can hang almost anywhere.

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting. The end result should be a painting that will spiritually and emotionally capture, calm, and elevate us.
