I am not sure if the star of this painting is the cluster of apples or the warm sunlight enveloping them! All I know is that they collectively begged to be painted. This piece was painted in conjuction with a series of tree-ripened fruit. I loved studying this subject matter because it met at the intersection of landscape and still life, containing distinctive elements of both!
