The beauty of the Grand Canyon in real life cannot be duplicated in any medium, but that didn't keep me from attempting! The reference for this painting was gathered on a two-day rim-to-rim-to-rim excursion, traversing about 21 miles down the North Kaibab trail and up the South Kaibab on the first day, taking in a much-appreciated hot meal and good night's rest in the lodge at the South Rim, and then hiking 24 miles down the Bright Angel trail and back up to the North Kaibab on day two. Unforgettable scenery in every direction.
