I love using a slow shutter when capturing images because I feel like I'm painting with my camera and breathing life into the image. You can feel the movement in the water, see the reflections from the sky. You feel like you're transported there. I captured this image at sunrise on the island of Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. The entire island is surrounded by a natural reef creating the most magical peaceful lagoon. It is an absolute underwater paradise that takes your breath away. I was able to swim along turtles, eagle rays and giant trevally to name a few in the ultra clear turquoise waters of the Cook Islands. I fell asleep every night in awe of the incredible sights I experienced. And I would wake up early to watch the sun rise illuminating the waves crashing on the reef, wondering what other extraordinary sights I have yet to experience across the reef.
