About the work

This illustration is drawn in graphite and colored pencil. It is meant to be displayed as a triptych with Aquatic High Jump 1 of 3 and Aquatic High Jump 2 of 3. As a child, I was mother to a number of goldfish. They all lived in a tiny fishbowl. I watched them swim aimlessly in circles and often wondered if they ever thought of escaping. Here, I have given one the opportunity.
