In this piece I explore botanical forms through a combination of ink painting, collage, and stitching. I begin by painting on handmade cotton rag paper, then carefully cut the organic shape and stitch it onto a recycled paper background. The small knots created with two thread colors add texture to the composition. I enjoy allowing the natural irregularities of the handmade paper and traces of the process to remain visible, emphasizing the tactile and handcrafted nature of the work.
