Because this work is created on wood, the paint texture and graphite marks are emphasized. I love the little bits of color peeking through the neutral layers. There are small whispers of pink and aqua with navy, rust, gray, and yellow showing through lots of creamy off-whites. I’ve been having fun exploring layering and focusing on texture in my work. I love creating and burying hidden colors and marks, then uncovering them later in the process—it feels like a treasure hunt! Each piece becomes a unique artifact.
