Actually, my paintings are not paintings... They are things! They are not "images" or fictitious realities, they are objects in their own right, they are what they appear to be: things of pure color, shape, and material. In doing so, my main concern is to create a "presence", a physical presence that engages not only the viewer but also the space it inhabits. The viewer is in a way, pushed back by the weight and density of these shapes and then drawn back by the tactile aspect of the layered colors.

Alain Castoriano graduated from the prestigious Ecole National Supérieur des Arts Décoratifs in Paris with a specialization in Visual Communication.
For more than two decades he has been working as an art director both in France and the United States.
He started his career as a painter in 2004, with his first solo exhibition in 2005 in Paris. Since then he has dedicated most of his time to painting, catching the attention of a growing number of collectors.
