This abstract painting was inspired by the beachy vibe of Santa Cruz, California where I live. Santa Cruz is fortunate to have some of the best waves for surfing. This piece was inspired by watching a spring sunset sky over a lone surfer catching the best wave!

In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art. Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
