About the work

Inspired by rock quarries to create space to think. My grandfather painted rock quarries so I looked out for photos that I could take to be inspired by. The photo was taken in Up State New York. I have held onto that photo for years. Now I know why. I had to paint what I saw. Renewal and rejuvenation are the meanings behind these pastel colors with a hint of sunshine. .
