This is a modern mixed-media abstract painting with bold color, line, texture and unexpected pattern. I am interested in the juxtapositions of the body/mind and natural/scientific worlds that create a visual conversation. In February of 2014, I unexpectedly went through brain surgery to remove a tumor. The juxtaposition between the clinical science of my brain surgery and the aftermath of the organic creative process fascinates me. I hope to evoke a sense of wonder and mystery/joy in this piece.
