About the work

Many years of my life have been spent training and racing at various velodromes. Absent of riders, the clean lines and curves of a velodrome are pleasing to the eye. This photograph of the keirin, an event of Japanese origin, captures the not only the speed and power, but also the precision, focus and control that the elite sprint cyclists bring to this backdrop.
