At the end of the street at my mother's house, there are three palm trees. When I saw them I immediately thought of three generations - my mother, my grandmother, and me. Like these trees, we are simultaneously related and separate. The crooked trunks of the trees remind me that the paths of our lives need not be straight to be beautiful.
