Locals and visitors alike have been strolling upon and beneath the iconic Manhattan Beach Pier since 1920. It is the oldest concrete pier on the West Coast, and as beautiful as golden hour and sunset is here, I also love soft mornings such as this one when the eastern sun gently illuminates the rustic underside of the pier and the ocean beyond. Surfers float just beyond as they commonly do, awaiting the perfect Southern California wave. In addition to offering this print in a soothing coastal color palette, I wanted to also honor the nostalgia of this official California State historical landmark by releasing it in timeless black and white as well as a warm sepia. It is my hope that this piece will make a dramatic visual statement in any beach-lover's space while also evoking deep breaths, restful moments, and feelings of endless summers spent relaxing by the sea.
