This abstract acrylic painting takes a modern spin on landscape art. This painting was inspired by the tip of Tomales Bay where the Pacific ocean waters enter the bay. The texture and depth of the acrylic paint evoke the mixing the two waters.

Caryn Owen created abstract paintings while simultaneously balancing motherhood and a career as a marine biology professor for years. In 2014, she left marine biology behind to predominately focus on art.
Using acrylic paint on canvas, Caryn creates abstract landscapes, abstract botanicals, or pure abstract expressionist paintings focusing primarily on color rather than form in her studio in Santa Cruz, California.
