Bay Laurels are elegant and understated trees, quietly holding that spicy-sweet leaf that flavors so much of our cooking. This bay laurel was painted in gouache on a summer day when the warm light danced on the leaves. The loose brushstrokes are playful and easy like summer afternoons.
