About the work

I have always had a deep appreciation for the perfection of nature's creations. In this work, I abstracted the beautiful colors and patterns of a California Quail. Before coming to this finished piece, I create many sketches in watercolor. I break down the elements to the essence of what makes each species so beautiful.
