Abstract landscape with road to the lake during Indian summer. This painting was inspired by the warm, sun drenched color of an Indian summer afternoon like upstate NY. With most landscape paintings I like to use a few inspiration photos for reference. However with this painting, I didn't use any reference material and chose to use my imagination as a way to explore something new. I also grew up on a lake and know what it's like to get to there with renewed enthusiasm for end of summer!
