Inspired by the serene beauty of sea-polished beach pebbles, this series evokes the realms of earth, sea and sky through the use of petal-like dyed paper cut outs. My work centers on feeling, rather than ideology. Drawn to quietness, subtlety and understatement, I want to evoke the mood and luminosity that coastal light and organic form inspire. I’m striving for simplicity and a meditative quality.

Drawn to quietness, subtlety and understatement, I strive to evoke the mood, luminosity and texture of space, light and organic form. My work is about feeling, rather than ideology or narrative. I primarily use paper, wax, watercolor, India ink and acrylic washes, borrowing techniques from printmaking (dry point, chine collé) and combining materials in new and unexpected ways. I seek to balance simplicity of expression with rich sensory qualities. less
