The minute I came across this scene, I knew I needed to paint it. The water was so clear I could see a whole different world just under the surface. First I created that underwater world, and then added the rocks. Then I brought in the surface of the water with bold strokes, just enough information to know it's water, but the viewer is still able to see everything else going on underneath.
