About the work
This is part of a larger series of works featuring lush strokes of color, texture, and delicate mark-making. Roaming the woods in the South as a child left a permanent impression, and I’m often recreating abstracted snapshots of those memories on canvas. In this piece, soft washes and sprays of color mimic the ethereal quality of petals and wings.
