Patinas are so appealing, they are like a detailed painting, with lots to explore. This print was made on a photograph of a metal door I found while exploring the Villa d' Este in Italy. The door had been painted green several times and rusted over the years, giving it depth and texture. I made this monoprint by printing my photo, using acrylics to paint a background on a gelatin plate, placing herbs on the painted plate, and lastly pressing my photo onto it.
