About the work
Blues, teals, and whites all blend together in Expanse to evoke a choppy wave, with pops of a sandy gold shore beneath. Inspired by the sea, my intention with this piece was to create movement and texture with staining techniques, and to add calming energy to a space.

As an artist, painting can be tormenting and sublime at the same time. I'm a big risk taker, experimenting with different materials to layer, stain, scrap and saturate color on large canvases. My most successful work is complex yet minimal. Some of my work achieves a sense of fluid movement with saturated color, while my newer collection is so textured it is like frosting. The end result should be a painting that will spiritually and emotionally capture, calm, and elevate us.
