About the work
This piece was inspired by the silhouettes of flowers and leaves and also by the earthy hues of terracotta, ochre and indigo. Cobalt blue was added for a touch of brightness. I wanted to keep the painting organic, abstract and fluid, so watercolor was the natural choice of medium.
