About the work
Fall always feels like the start of something to me...the beginning of a new collection of memories. I painted this on a blue-bird, early fall day when sunlight was flooding into my studio and it was still warm enough to have the windows cracked. There was a tangible energy in the air that seemed to spill right into this painting.

My aesthetic is ever-changing. Ethereal-light-reflective and playful one moment, industrial-modern-gritty-urban the next. I find it so difficult to limit myself to any one style because I like to be surrounded by contrasting elements in my own environment. A painting should evoke emotion in its owner every time he or she looks at it. When I create my paintings, I envision them in someone’s home and hope that each piece brings as much joy to its new owner as it did to me during its creation.
