About the work

Renewal was created using explorative in-camera double exposure with intentional camera movement photographing sections of two vintage oil paintings, my grandmother’s 1940’s seascape and an unsigned 1960’s era landscape painting discovered at a local flea market. The original paintings inspired, and have now come together to create a minimal painterly print pairing layered with lush color, light, shadow, and texture from both past and present. A representation of generations past influence and intentional renewal. This art print is part of a pair - consider pairing it with Renewal No 2.
