About the work

Reading had always been an escape for me, and I wanted to create a whimsical image that showed what reading means to me. I was able to set up my camera on a tripod and use a very fast shutter speed as I dropped the book. It took several attempts, but I finally got it just right and the book looks like it is in flight.
