About the work

An abstract mixed media composition focusing on a play of bold shape, color and textures. A subtle ground wash serves as the perfect backdrop for the dark overlapping brushstrokes; creating an interesting balance of warm/cool, dark/light, soft/heavy feelings. Chalk and pencil markings cut into the painted areas creating yet another layer of texture and contrast.
