Creating abstract art that the naked human eye does not see from "ordinary items" is a recent area of photography exploration. For this set of two images, I used intentional camera movement to explore the shadows and light from undisclosed personal objects. Experimentation with ICM is recent for me and I continue to lean into this in-camera option. Although I have learned how different shutter speed time choices translate into an image, I am always surprised with the results. I believe the difficulty to reproduce an ICM creation allows this type of abstract photography to be elevated as an artistic art medium.

Light, texture, color are a few elements that captivate and motivate me to create images. No subject is too boring – even a piece of weathered wood can create an interesting image. Add in a textured bowl, a bunch of berries and a dash of morning sun lighting it all – a perfect kitchen image for a kitchen with a rustic bent. I think of myself as photographing life. less
