My love affair with San Francisco began back in 2017, when I ventured into the city on a solo photo trip for a commissioned project. I was immediately taken by its character, its diversity, the landscape, the light, the architecture, and especially with its many local historic shops, restaurants, and markets that have welcomed locals and visitors alike for generations. Molinari Delicatessen, a family owned Italian deli located in the North Beach Neighborhood, is one such locally loved market with a rich history dating back to the late 1800’s and born from one Piedmont immigrant’s unwavering pursuit of the American Dream. I chose to offer this image as a classic monochromatic print (available in traditional black or white or vintage warm sepia) to pay homage to Molinari’s beginnings in Old San Francisco and its ongoing timelessness. I hope that this piece brings a nostalgic touch of Little Italy and the spirit of American Dream into your kitchen, dining area, restaurant, or wherever you’d like to reminisce over this iconic neighborhood gem.
