This watercolor painting was inspired by the beauty and color of fresh plums bought from a local market in France and arranged on a favorite ceramic plate. the varying red and burgundy tones of the fruit shone like precious stones against the muted vintage French table linen. In that moment I knew that I needed to encapsulate their radiant perfection with layers of translucent watercolor paint.
