One of my first paintings, this series explores space, medium and composition. It reflects a naive time in my art self-training. After spending 5 years studying Japanese culture, language and East Asian artwork, I often find this theme of making simple strokes comes up effortlessly. I like to see where I can arrange the strokes and color to create a modern abstract landscape.
