About the work
Ten Green Things includes exactly what it describes, ten green things. In this case a cactus, a sailboat, a turtle, a lime, a grasshopper, scissors, a bird, a watering can and a shamrock. Individually these ten things seem random and unrelated. Collectively, the illustrate a full picture of the color green. Pieces like this help children collect, organize and categorize objects. By making everything the same color, these “things” can then be compared by size, shape and category (i.e. Transportation, sea life, space, nature and everyday objects). This piece is perfect for grasping color in early childhood development stages and makes a fun art piece for any playroom.
This piece pairs perfectly with Ten Blue Things, Then Yellow Things and Ten Red Things. When combining these colors together, children can begin to compare color palettes, and categorize even further. Displaying all four together is what was planned.
